Connect

Connect memrelay to Claude.

memrelay is a remote MCP connector. Add one address to Claude, sign in with your work account, and Claude can search and read your company's knowledge, within your access.

The connector address

https://app.memrelay.com/mcp

No API keys and no tokens to keep. You sign in with Google or Microsoft, the same work account your company uses for memrelay.

Before you start

  • A memrelay account. Your workspace admin adds you, or your company lets everyone with its email domain in. If memrelay does not know your account yet, signing in opens a read-only demo company instead of your own. No workspace yet? Request one.
  • Custom connectors in Claude. On Pro and Max you add the connector yourself. On Team and Enterprise, an organization admin has to enable connectors first.

Claude on the web, desktop and mobile

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector, name it memrelay and paste https://app.memrelay.com/mcp.
  3. Select Connect. A sign-in window opens: pick Google or Microsoft and choose your work account.
  4. Check it works: ask Claude something about your company, for example "what do we have on our pricing?". An answer drawn from your company's documents means you are connected.

Claude sees exactly what you can see. Knowledge in layers above your access stays out of its answers.

Claude Code

Add a remote MCP server with the same address, for example claude mcp add --transport http memrelay https://app.memrelay.com/mcp, then sign in with your work account when Claude Code asks.

Other AI tools

ChatGPT (on paid plans) and Cursor connect with the same address and the same sign-in. Their menus change often, so look for the option to add a custom or remote MCP connector.

More than one company

If you belong to several companies on memrelay, each has its own address: https://app.memrelay.com/t/<company>/mcp, where <company> is your company's short name in memrelay. Add one connector per company. The plain address opens your primary company.

What Claude can do with it

Which tools appear depends on your access. Everyone can read; only people with write access can propose changes, and only admins can approve them.

Read

kb_searchSearch the knowledge base by words and filters.
kb_getOpen a document.
kb_listBrowse documents by filters.
kb_recentSee what changed recently.
kb_assetsFind company images and files.
kb_answer_contextGather the context for an answer, including who to ask.
meeting_contextPrepare for a meeting.
kb_houseRead the company's house style and conventions.
kb_helpExplain how memrelay works.
kb_auditShow what is missing or out of date in the knowledge base.
kb_queue, kb_approvalsList knowledge waiting to be filed, and changes waiting for your approval.
kb_tasks, kb_skillsRead the team's tasks and the company's saved procedures.

Propose changes (write access)

kb_proposePropose a new document or a change to one.
kb_ingestFile several documents as one proposal.
kb_deletePropose removing a document. Nothing is ever hard-deleted; history stays.
ingest_meetingFile notes from a meeting.

Each of these becomes a proposal. A person approves it before it enters your company's shared knowledge; admins approve with kb_approve or in the web console.

Your own space

Your personal profile, journal and skills, and the team's task list, are saved directly without a proposal. They belong to you or your team, not to the shared knowledge base.

Common problems

Sign-in says you have no access. Your account is not a member of that company yet, so your workspace admin has to add you. You see the same message when a company address has a typo.

You landed in a demo company. You signed in with an account memrelay does not know. Disconnect the connector, connect again and choose your work account; the sign-in always lets you pick.

Connected, but no tools appear. Check that the connector shows as connected. If it does not, remove it and add the address again.

There is no option to add a custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans an organization admin has to allow custom connectors first.

A document you expect is missing. It may sit in a layer above your access. Ask the person who owns it.

"Temporarily unable to verify credentials". A short hiccup on the sign-in side. Wait a moment and try again; the connector stays connected.
